PlayGAMI

PlayGAMI has the fun of coloring, folding origami and the magic of AR all at once! At the current moment, our platform lets a user draw on real origami paper and turn their creation into a virtual origami action figure/game character! Our very first real-to-digital origami creation is a traditional origami crane.

We begin with our PlayGAMI paper - magical origami paper which you can use to design your origami creation with real pens. This is just a piece of regular paper printed with a crease pattern, with the AR tracking feature points printed on the parts that will become the back side of the crane. Anyone can print this out at http://print.playGAMI.com !

Augmented Reality Crane Marker

You can keep checking what the final folded crane will look like. Once you're ready, press the "Freeze" button to save the design. You can also post the design to the world by clicking a stamp button which lets the user view their drawing online!

Before folding the origami, the user can visualize their creation on a KUBIKULO Box that lets them physically rotate in all 360 directions. The box is just a paper cube that anyone can print and assemble themselves http://print.playGAMI.com

Current KUBIKULO Box Modules include: - GAMI in a Skybox ( Visualize the origami crane take flight and see your drawing in full 360 degrees! ) - GAMI v Dojo ( A game to shatter 1000 origami cranes that are attacking a dojo! - Fruit Ninja meets Origami? ) - Orbiting GAMI ( A flying crane revolves around a globe like a satellite. This teaches the basics of orbital mechanics to children and also represents our wish to spread the joy of Playgami across the world! )
